Description: Anthonij Rupert’s Cabernet Franc 2017 is a sophisticated and expressive single‑varietal red that showcases the unique character of South African Cabernet Franc from decomposed granite soils. Hand‑harvested grapes are carefully sorted and fermented with extended skin contact before being aged 18–24 months in French oak barrels (60% new), then further bottle‑aged for refinement — resulting in a wine of depth and poise. In the glass it displays an intense red colour. The nose is complex and compelling, with herbal undertones, spicy notes, graphite, cocoa powder and hints of dark fruitcake. On the palate, expect rich flavours of dark chocolate, cedar, ripe blackberry and fruitcake, complemented by fine, dry tannins and a sleek, refined texture that speaks to careful oak integration and varietal purity.
